In a nutshell

Make sure your Apple device is running a version newer than iOS 15. Even better is the most recent iOS. Apple explains how to check your current iOS version: Find the software version on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod (https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201685)
Switch on the card reader. Wait until the blue light in the upper right corner blinks.
Pair your iPad via Bluetooth with the card reader
Now open the orderbird app. You can charge a table using the payment option “card payment,” which will be automatically generated by the system
