The proper solution The quick solution

If your cash register was out of service, you likely issued handwritten receipts for your guests, ensuring they were sequentially numbered.

Now that your cash register is back up and running, it’s time to log those receipts into your orderbird app. You have two options: a proper, thorough method or a quick solution.

The proper solution

To maintain the integrity of your MY orderbird reports, you’ll need to manually enter each handwritten receipt into the app.

  1. Record each receipt in the app: Enter each receipt manually in orderbird, matching the details from the handwritten receipts.
  2. Keep the handwritten receipt and the cash register receipt together: To ensure proper traceability, attach the handwritten receipt to the corresponding receipt from the cash register. Stapling them together or noting the receipt number from the cash register on the handwritten receipt works well.

This method ensures your reports remain accurate and reliable.

The quick solution

If speed is your priority, and you don’t mind forgoing detailed reporting for this period, here’s a faster way to handle the situation:

  1. Add up the handwritten receipts: Use a calculator to determine the total of all your handwritten receipts.
  2. Create a new item in the orderbird App:
    1. In the orderbird app, go to Settings > Order Pad > Menu card
    2. Add a new menu item labeled with the receipt numbers of the first and last handwritten receipts (e.g., “Rg.Nr.: h1-h34,” where “h” stands for “handwritten”).
  3. Enter the total amount: Set the price for the new item as the combined total of your handwritten receipts.
  4. Adjust the tax rates: Confirm the applicable tax rates with your tax advisor. If in doubt, always use the higher tax rate.

Keep all handwritten receipts together with the cash register receipt. For added clarity, note the receipt numbers (e.g., “Rg.Nr.: h1-h34”) on the cash register receipt.

That’s it! You’re back on track and ready to dive into the usual hustle and bustle of restaurant life. Good luck and have fun!
