Most issues regarding your Pay Terminal Plus are usually resolved quickly. Here is a list of the most common error messages, what they mean and if you can fix them.
Check: Are all devices in the correct network and connected?
Please make sure that your Pay Terminal Plus is properly connected to your network and your iPad!
The error messages
“Something went wrong during the payment process”
Please check your network. Your terminal or iPad may be connected to another network. If this is not the case and the error persists, please restart your router. If the problem still persists, please contact our hotline or email us at help@orderbird.com.
“PED Tampered”
The error message “PED Tampered” appears as soon as the integrated security mechanism is triggered. This mechanism is designed to protect your device from manipulation and data loss. Many factors can trigger this message.
- dropping the terminal
- forced unlocking of the device
- fake card
- power peaks during charging
- over-cleaning
- temperature fluctuations
If this message compares on your terminal, then your Pay Terminal Plus is permanently defective! Please contact our hotline or email us at help@orderbird.com. Your device must be either replaced or a new one purchased. Our support team will verify the warranty and explain the next steps to you.

Why is every card payment transaction declined immediately?

Why is there no option “Connecting Wi-Fi Terminals to this device” in the orderbird App?
Check whether your Apple device is running on iOS 15.0 or newer and orderbird PRO on 7.6.3. or newer.
Why does the error message "Handshake fehlgeschlagen" appear when scanning the QR code while pairing the card reader and iPad?
This can have various reasons:
- Please check (again) whether the PTP and the iPad are in the same Wi-Fi.
- Both devices are in the same network: Then please unplug your router from the power supply for at least 60 seconds.
- Close all open apps, including the orderbird app, and clear your RAM. Find out how to do this here: Empty the iPad/iPod's working memory.
