Your printer is connected to a LAN port of your work network, but is no longer printing. You discovered that its IP address is 192.168.192.168.

Here’s how you can check if the issue lies with the network connection.

Let’s get started

The IP address 192.168.192.168 can indicate different issues depending on the printer model:

  • For newer printer models, such as the Epson TM-M30II-NT (with a blue LED), the printer is receiving an incorrect signal from the network connected via LAN cable.
  • For older printer models, such as the TM-T20II (with a green LED), the printer has been reset to factory settings.

  1. Unplug your printer and wait at least 1 minute.
  2. Follow the LAN cable connected to the printer. This cable must be connected to a LAN slot on your network. Check if the printer is …
    1. ... connected to a repeater ? If so, disconnect the repeater from the power supply for at least one minute.
Also, verify that the repeater is properly connected to your network. The best way to do this is by using a LAN cable, ensuring a more stable and reliable connection.
    2. ... connected to a LAN socket in the wall? If so, connect the printer directly to your home router using a LAN cable.
    3. ... connected directly to your home router? If so, unplug the home router from the power supply for at least one minute. Replace the LAN cable to rule out any defects and ensure the connection is working properly.
  3. After performing these checks, restart your printer. It will print a new IP address that you can set in the orderbird app. Done!
